GIANT Comic Book: A Penguin Zine
Co-designed and co-written by 30 GIANT kids, AI, and a multidisciplinary team of artists, educators, and writers at The GIANT Room, A Penguin Zine invites all kids (and adults) to learn the coolest penguin facts with some laughter along the way!
We are extremely honored to partner with Connecticut State Libraries and bring GIANT creative STEM experiences to the Rhode Island community at the Tiverton Public Library. We planned an epic winter-themed family workshop with the Children’s Librarian at Tiverton Public Library, Meg Paquette. With her recommendation, we chose the book A Penguin Story by Antoinette Portis to “spark” kids’ ideas at the start of the workshop. We then joined the Tiverton community at their library and dreamed about all things Antarctica, snow, winter, and, of course, penguins!
More than 30 participants joined, dreamed, created, and shared on that day. Here, we have “remixed” their penguins, characters, and wintery scenes into the most epic book of penguin facts!
