DESCRIPTION: For the fashionista kids who dare to envision the future of fashion in New York City! Inspired by the New York at its Core exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York, we’ll explore NYC fashion and its evolution through different decades, come up with new designs inspired by designers whose works are on exhibit, and make models of our design to share with the community. Campers will turn the Museum of The City of New York into a fashion runway show by designing unique pieces, 3D printed accessories, and making jewelry with all sorts of tools, and making interactive smart wearables for the fashion of the future! From learning how to sew with the sewing machine to designing with 3D softwares, coding micro-controllers for their smart fashion, prototyping with lights, motors, and conductive fabric, and dressing up model figures, our campers will work on creative STEM fashion inspired project, learn, and share. Participants also explore and code their own AR and VR worlds to try on different fashion designs before adding them to their runway show! We’ll dream, learn, design, experiment, and simply have a fantastic time together.
