DESCRIPTION: For curious kids determined to experiment with food! Inspired by MCNY hit exhibition, Food In New York: Bigger Than the Plate, we invite campers to think, experiment and design for a more equitable, socially diverse, and delicious future of food in New York City!
Campers will be food inventors, learn about the science involved in a variety of recipes, and invent their own amazing tasting (or not) foods. Every day they will create new snacks, treats, make cool gadgets for the kitchen, or simply do unexpected science experiments with things you may find in a not-so-ordinary kitchen. Think liquid nitrogen ice cream, frozen and foamy bubbles, testing Ph levels in our drinks, mastering the art of dough making, preparing food like astrounats, growing an in-door garden, edible and not-so-edible slimes (of course), DIY paper making with kicthen appliance, your own bubble making machine, rotating sushi table, and more... We will make our own menus and host an opening night to our cafes, ice cream shops, slime bar, pizza shop, or a super fancy restaurant with foamy bubbles on every dish served by super cool robots! This program is the perfect blend of science, kitchen experimentation, robotics, creativity, and socialization.
